Calix Router Guide
Getting Started
Coosa Valley Technologies customers with the Calix Router can use a simple app to manage your home or small business Wi-Fi network within a few minutes by using these easy-to-follow instructions.
Download the CVTech Connect app from the Apple or Google app store.
Select Let’s Get Started at the bottom of the screen.
On the login screen, select Sign Up located at the bottom.
On the Sign Up screen, enter your personal information. The password you enter here will only be used to access the app. This is not the login and password for your Wi-Fi or your Coosa Valley Technologies account. Once your personal information is entered, tap Create Account. You will need to wait at least 10 minutes after activating your Calix Router before moving onto Step 5.
If your system is plugged in and connected, select YES to continue; otherwise, select Not Sure? at the bottom of the screen and skip to the In-app Wiring Guide below.
Tap the QR code that appears within the app. You will be asked to allow the app to access your camera. Point your camera at the QR code found on the bottom of your Calix Router or on the sticker that came in the router box. Select OK and then Submit.
If your system is already operating with Wi-Fi, tap Click Here to Skip; otherwise, complete these steps to set up your Wi-Fi.
-
- Name your network and create a password.
- The Router Name will be used throughout the app.
- The Network Name (SSID) is what you will use as your wireless connection name.
- Select a password for your wireless network. If you do not want to change it on all the devices in your home, use your existing wireless SSID and password from your current router.
- Click Submit and you’re done!
In-App Wiring Guide
It’s time to set up your new system. Locate your existing internet service device. This is typically known as a modem or ONT. It may look like one of these:
Unplug the device and remove all cables. Wait 2 minutes.
After 2 minutes, plug the device back in and turn it on.
Connect the Ethernet cable from the modem or ONT using the part labeled 10GE to your Calix Router.
Connect the system to a power outlet. It may take several minutes for the unit to be ready. It will blink yellow then turn solid green. Once the device is connected, tap Unit Ready.
Now, go back to Step 5 under Getting Started.

Fiber Internet Troubleshooting Tips
Coosa Valley Technologies strives to provide reliable service, but issues occasionally arise due to factors beyond our control. For example, if severe weather causes a power outage, your internet service will also be interrupted. If you experience slow or no internet connection, here are a few quick steps to try before contacting support:
Restart Your Device
Sometimes the issue may be with your device rather than your internet connection.
- Restart the device not receiving a signal.
- Test your Wi-Fi on another device to compare.
Restart Your Modem and Router
Resetting your equipment can resolve many common internet issues.
- Unplug your modem and router.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug them back in and allow time to connect.
This process refreshes your connection to our fiber internet network and clears temporary issues.
